The addictictive cabbage is simply amazing and as advertised and I couldn't come here without enjoying an amazing omakase experience boasting the best Japanese day boat sashimi and nigiri. The owner is attentive and the staff is so warm and friendly! ”

We had the spider roll and deep fried roll which were both fresh and good. I would return to this place to try more of their rolls being that they have a pretty good variety. ”

“ I was thrilled when I heard about a new sushi option in Decatur. Takumi is a great addition to the area! The are a few complimentary parking spaces directly behind the restaurant. Street parking is also available. Everything Ive tried has been delicious. I typically order the bang bang shrimp and the shrimp boat roll. The shrimp are perfectly crisp and tossed in a scrumptious sauce. The shrimp boat roll consists of tempura shrimp, cucumber, mayo, avocado and is topped with shrimp and eel sauce. I ordered the sangria at my recent visit and was quite impressed. The staff is friendly and efficient. ”

“ I had dinner here with family on a Wednesday night, and we were seated right away. It's a pretty small restaurant, and everyone was really nice. We ordered 4 sushi rolls to share: a California roll, a spicy tuna roll, a rainbow roll, and a shrimp boat roll. They were all very good, but the shrimp boat was our favorite and we ordered a second one of those after finishing the first! The prices seemed average. They do also offer omakase by reservation, which would be fun. I'll definitely be back! ”

We ordered: -Miso soup- perfectly seasoned, not salty, and just the right amount of seaweed in the soup -Addictive Cabbage - delicious and refreshing. -Chicken karaage - just the right amount of breading and the right amount of time in the fryer. -Smoked Scallop appetizer- OMG- scallop in a crab sauce- touch of curry -Oshinko - great palate cleanser -Takumi Roll - it's a definite winner and shareable. The lobster was dipped in tempura batter and generously served within the roll -Dragon Roll - the unagi was fresh, the sushi rice on point, and the sauce wasn't too heavy or too sweet - Young Wild Yellowtail Sashimi - melts in your mouth and the house soy sauce is the perfect complement to the sashimi! -Hamachi Kama - LOVE THIS DISH!!! Good size portion, complete with rice, dipping sauce, side salad -Ginger Tea - DO IT- The owner Yuen has a wonderful smile and a go-get-em disposition! Fish is flown in from Japan, Yuen is a retired Master Bartender- just don't buy the retired part!, and Jason serving and making recommendations is the winning combination!
